Jessica Harris heralds her debut AW/10 ‘pastiche’ unisex collection as ‘creating a dialogue with clothing that didn’t exist before…forging less obvious pairings between women’s and menswear. Taking inspiration from ‘Paris in the Fall’ - the clothes are inspired by the style of the city; sleek , elegant, modern, and wearable. By pairing a selection of male & female looks in the collection - each develops its own distinct dialogue between the two parts and in some cases the clothes even become interchangeable making new silhouettes; men’s pants are slim and short on him while when worn by her become loose and slouchy with a cuffed ankle. A boy’s suit jacket becomes a girl’s coat to throw on over jewelled shorts. His shirt turns into her dress and her dress his over-sized t-shirt and so on…
